According to Dimitri van der Werf, AI is merely a new toolbox for artists, offering a myriad of algorithms that can be manipulated with prompts similar to magic spells. Where a painter infuses paint with passion, an AI artist breathes life into generated images through sharp choices and post-processing. Dimitri van der Werf creates surreal images and explores the potential of AI in his “Conference of Birds” series, in which fictional birds and characters intertwine.
